What is BankWork$?

BankWork$® helps young adults from under-resourced communities build meaningful careers in banking, through a free, eight-week career training, placement assistance, and ongoing coaching.

In collaboration with local training partners and employer partners, we connect talent with great careers, and ensure participants and employers thrive.

Seventy-two percent of BankWork$ graduates remain with their employer after 12 months. We’ve helped launch 4,000+ careers since 2006.

Our comprehensive training program is eight weeks.

Unlike other programs that may take a year to complete, our curriculum is covered in eight weeks and was co-developed by employers and community-serving organizations to ensure success.  We engage prospective employers in the community throughout the program to provide industry insight and integrated recruitment opportunities.

Participants train for success in the financial services industry and beyond.

Young adults learn the industry-specific skills of banking, including cash-handling, fraud detection, and regulations, and the communication and people skills that will serve them in any professional setting, including relationship building and problem solving.  They practice speaking in front of a group, interviewing successfully, and giving and receiving constructive feedback. They are also guided to identify and apply transferable customer-facing skills from past employment to future careers.

Every graduate has an opportunity to interview with our industry partners.

At graduation, each graduate is invited to interview for open positions with local industry partners. They receive far more personal attention than they might during a standard job fair or online application process.  They graduate prepared for their first day on the job, with the confidence they can and will succeed, and are supported through mentorship as they grow in their new career.
